I became aware of the Occupy movement when I was in New York for an exhibition in 2011. The movement was new and the media was doing a good job of suppressing its impact. When I returned to Europe I started to research the protests online and to make drawings from them to post on my daily drawing blog. Following this I started photographing, drawing and painting the movement as we encountered it on our travels.
